The city of Cologne is accepting applications for new firefighters until March 1, 2026!
Frequently asked questions:
-The Cologne Fire and Rescue Department responds to approximately 200 emergency calls annually.
-Currently staffs 32 men and women paid on call personnel
-They respond to all types of emergencies including emergency medical, fire suppression, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, assists other agencies and cities, severe weather standby, many hours of community service and more!
-New hires in the first 12 to 24 months will receive 140 hours of Firefighter training and 40 hours of emergency medical training.
-New recruit trainings are normally 2 nights a week.
-Paid per hour for all training and emergency call responses.
