ELECTION PROTOCOL CHANGES

  • Returning an Absentee Ballot

If you have already requested and received an absentee ballot in the mail, return the ballot in person to the Government Center in Chaska (600 E 4th St) by Tuesday, Nov 3rd at 3:00pm,  There is a separate line for these ballots being returned. Individuals need to come to “Door 1” by the flagpole and Veterans Memorial (past the voters in line to vote in person).  Hours for ballot return are:

  • Today!!  8:00am-4:30pm
  • Saturday, October 31st – 10:00am-3:00pm
  • Monday, November 2nd – 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Tuesday, November 3rd – 8:00am-3:00pm
  • Vote Absentee In-Person

You can still Vote Absentee in person at the Government Center at the same dates/times listed above.  Wait times are averaging 2-2.5 hours minimum for this.  This line is outdoors so plan accordingly for the weather.

  • Vote on Election Day

Cologne city residents are to vote at City Hall, 1211 Village Parkway (enter at South parking lot) on Election Day, Nov 3rd.  Polls are open from 7am – 8pm.

  • Did you request an absentee ballot and have not received it yet?

As long as you, the voter, have not returned your absentee ballot to Carver County Elections and had it marked “Accepted” in the State database, you are still eligible to go to the polling place and vote on Election Day.  You do not need to do anything additional. The Poll Pad elections equipment WILL NOT show any sign of a voter requesting an absentee ballot and your election judges will treat the voter like any other Election Day voter when checking you in.
